KALAHARI MEETS NAMIB

Day 1 - Meeting at Upington

Upington – 1 night; Accommodation in B&B

Meeting at Upington Airport (South Africa) the day before the expedition starts on Day 2, with an  easy relaxing day before the expedition starts the next morning.

Day 2, 3, 4 - Waterhole exploration from Rooiputs

Rooiputs Campsite, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (Botswana) – 3 nights; Accommodation in Camping

We will start the day driving to Twee Rivieren Gate of Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (KTP)  and entering the park and driving to Rooiputs Campsite in Nossob Riverbed in Game Drive mode, setting up camp and having lunch with another Game drive in the afternoon for wildlife action around waterholes of Nossob River.

The next 2 days will include twice daily Game drives to the various Nossob Riverbed waterholes.

Day 5, 6 - Waterhole expeditions from Polentswa

Polentswa Campsite, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (Botswana) – 2 nights; Accommodation in Camping

We will depart driving to Polentswa Campsite along Nossob Riverbed in Game drive mode as we check out the numerous waterholes along the route, with another Game drive after our arrival and lunch.

The next 2 days will include twice daily Game drives to the various Nossob Riverbed waterholes.

Day 7, 8, 9 - Waterhole Game drives along auob

Mata Mata Campsite, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (South Africa) – 3 nights; Accommodation in Camping

The day will start with a drive to Mata Mata Campsite (South Africa Side of KTP) in Auob Riverbed in Game drive mode where we will have another Game drive in the afternoon for wildlife action around several other waterholes of Auob Riverbed towards the northwest section of KTP.

The next 2 days will include twice daily Game drives along the Auob Riverbed between Mata Mata and Twee Rivieren portion of KTP.

Day 10 - Adapting to the desert

Hardap National Park (Namibia) – 1 night; Accommodation in Lodging

When exiting Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park from Mata Mata Border into Namibia, we will be driving to Hardap National Park our accommodation and Lunch at the lodge.
Hardap is a wetland formed by the dam with the same name where especially birdlife is good. In addition to that, there are Kalahari’s desert-adapted mammals, reptiles in this habitat.
Easy and relaxed game drive is scheduled for the afternoon.

Day 11, 12 - Safari & Camping in Namibrand

Namib Rand Nature Reserve – 2 nights; Accommodation in Camping

We will be driving to the NamibRand Nature Reserve.  Setting up the camp in Namib Rand Nature Reserve Campsite., and having a Game drive in the afternoon.  And of course, some Star Gazing at night time.

The next day will consist of more Game drives and spending another night under the stars.

Day 13, 14 - desert view from up high

Sesriem - Sossusvlei - Deadvlei – 2 nights; Accommodation in Camping

Driving to Sesriem after a good breakfast with a final Game drive in NamibRand Nature Reserve.  Setting up the camp in Sossusvlei.

The next day might be an early start for those guests who would like to take a breathtaking Hot-Air Balloon Flight over the Namib, it is an expensive activity, but we believe it is well worth it.  Alternatively, we might go hiking around at significant locations within the park in and around petrified sand dunes all day long.  Of course, there will be Stargazing at night time.

Day 15, 16 - desert up close and from afar

Swakopmund – 2 nights; Accommodation in B&B

Watching the Sunrise over the Red Dunes of Namib early in the morning, and visiting Deadvlei one more time for extra photographic opportunities in a different light.  After Lunch, we will be driving to Swakopmund via scenic road through the desert.

Once in Swakopmund a "Little 5" Tour in the Namib will be followed by a trip to Walvis Bay to visit their flamingos and drive across Dunes and look at the Ocean.

Day 17, 18 - Game drives and more

Palmwag Lodge, Damaraland – 2 nights; Accommodation in Camping

The morning will be a scenic drive to Palmwag Lodge, lunch will be followed by a Game drive in the afternoon in Palmwag-Damaraland Concession.
The next day there will be early morning and late afternoon Game drives in the Concession.

Day 19~22 - Days and nights full of wildlife 

Etosha National Park – 4 nights; Accommodation in Camping

After Breakfast, we will be driving to Etosha National Park via Kamanjab after breakfast to visit a Himba Tribe Village, and then proceed driving to Etosha National Park.  We will be Camping at Okakuejo Campsite.

The next couple of days will include numerous day and optional night drives Game Drives in the Okakuejo Zone, Halali Area as we proceed through the ETNP.

Day 23 - spectacular sunset

Waterberg Plateau National Park – 1 night; Accommodation in Lodging

We will be exiting Etosha NP in Game drive mode from Halali Camp to Okakuejo Zone Gate towards the Waterberg Plateau National Park, the night will be spent at a lodge in Waterberg.

We will be hiking up the Waterberg Plateau in the afternoon to watch the great plains lies beneath her and the amazing sunset.

Day 24 - final fairwels

Departure to Homelands

Driving back to Windhoek, Hosea Kutako International Airport where it all has started to catch your flight back where we will say farewell with lots of quality time memories along with lots of quality images.

What is Included:

  • The tour is mostly full board - all inclusive at locations where we camp. Same statement applies in locations where guests stay in lodges if the facility embodies campsite since, we – the staff will be camping and eating in campsite. Guests are welcome to join;

  • All game drives (safari) that we conduct and mentioned within the itinerary;

  • All transfers.

  • Dinners or any other courses that guests would like to eat out where it is possible, and where the facility (lodges and guest houses) has its own service;

  • Please note that, we will have a limited selection of Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic beverages on board. If you need a specific brand of beverage, please feel free to bring it along or let us know in advance to have it on board;

  • All game drives (safari) activities that we are not allowed to conduct by ourselves, such as bush walks, night drives that are only conducted by park and reserve rangers;
